Liquid Assets: Frozen Lavender Lemonade from Andia’s Homemade Ice Cream

Ice cream and lemonade are quintessential summer refreshers, so why not combine them into a decadent float? Andia Xouris suggests using Lavender Lemonade ice cream, which is available in pints at Andia’s Homemade Ice Cream shops during June and July. And for that extra touch, a splash of lavender syrup adds a floral flourish.

Ingredients:

Makes 2 drinks

Lemon slices
Purple decorator’s sugar crystals
8 ounces freshly squeezed lemonade*
7 ounces (by weight) Andia’s Homemade Lavender Lemonade ice cream
2 tablespoons Torani lavender syrup
Edible organic lavender

Instructions:

  1. Rub lemon on the rim of the glass, and dip it into purple sugar crystals; set aside.
  2. Weigh out the ice cream and add it to a blender with the lemonade and alcohol, if using.
  3. Blend until the ice cream breaks down.
  4. Divide the lavender syrup between two martini glasses, one tablespoon in each glass.
  5. Pour the blended drink on top of the syrup.
  6. Garnish the drink with another slice of lemon and a pinch of the edible organic lavender

*For adults only: Sub the 8 ounces lemonade for 6 ounces lemonade plus 2 ounces vodka, Malibu rum or gin.
