Support Your Maggy-Winning Restaurants

During Triangle Restaurant Week, visit Doherty's Irish Pub in Cary or Apex. On the regular menu is salmon, grilled and brushed with a cider and whiskey glaze. It is served with sautéed spinach, a scallion and cheddar potato cake, and finished with a sprinkling of pecans.

Triangle Restaurant Week is a great excuse to try out some of the best restaurants in Western Wake.

Among the participating venues are several Maggy-winning eateries, including Lugano Ristorante, Nazara Indian Bistro and Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse in Cary and Daniel’s in Apex.

In Raleigh, Rey’s, a perennial favorite among steak-loving Maggy voters, is also participating.

“Triangle Restaurant Week is one of the few events that celebrates the area as a whole,” said Damon Butler, founder of Triangle Restaurant Week. “It’s traditionally held during the slowest times of the year, and it definitely draws a crowd.”

The annual winter event runs Jan. 22 through Jan. 28, with nearly 100 participating local restaurants offering special, three-course prix fixe lunch menus at $15, and/or three-course prix fixe dinner menus at $20 to $35.

No reservations or tickets are required.

“Not only does Restaurant Week bring new customers to existing restaurants, but it gives chefs the opportunity to try out new dishes that aren’t on the menu. Sometimes these highlighted items get a place on the menu after TRW, based on the response,” said Butler.

Other restaurants in Cary include Academy Street Bistro, Dean’s Kitchen+Bar, Doherty’s Irish Pub, Totopos Street Food & Tequila, Tribeca Tavern and Maximillians Grill & Wine Bar.

In Morrisville, Firebirds Wood Fired Grill and Viva DF Taco & Tequila Bar will take part in Triangle Restaurant Week, as well as the Apex location of Doherty’s Irish Pub.
