Franz Propst
Executive Chef, Peak City Grill & Bar
Been there: 6 years
Cuisine style: Contemporary American with a Southern flair
Loves about Peak City: The ambiance of the historic building. It brings the food, service and ambiance together for a truly memorable dining experience.
Where he eats: Main Street Grille Café & Bakery, Wake Forest
Admires: The Grille is independently owned. I try to support independent restaurants as much as possible. The Grille has a tremendous following and community support.
Memorable: The fresh made doughnuts are to die for. In the mornings the line is out the door of the restaurant waiting to get their hands on these gems. Before moving to the Wake Forest area, my family would travel 40 minutes on Sunday just to go get doughnuts. It is so worth the drive. Go early, the doughnuts go fast!
What to order: Yeast Knots, Apple Cider Doughnut, New York Cheesecake Doughnut, Old Fashioned Buttermilk Glazed Doughnut or the Huevos Rancheros.
Doughnuts and pastries are made overnight at Main Street Grille Café & Bakery. The eatery operates as a full-service grill and cafe during the day.
