About:
To provide medical assistance, foster homes and adoption services to previously lost, abandoned, abused or neglected animals in Wake County and the surrounding counties. Best Friend Pet Adoption is a no-kill animal rescue, consisting solely of animal fosters.

Volunteer Opportunities:
Animal transporter
At times we need help transporting BFPA animals between their foster homes and our veterinary hospitals or adoption events (if the foster is unavailable). Use of your own vehicle is required.
Application processor
Process adoption or foster applications. Involves making phone calls from the comfort of your home to check references and gather information to give to Adoption or Foster Home Coordinators.
Donation transporter
Pick up items donated to BFPA, including crates, food, dog houses and kennel fencing. We also have monetary donation boxes in vet offices and pet stores. Owning a pickup truck is not a requirement for this job, but we'd like to know if you do in order to call on you for the larger, heavier donation items.
Foster
There are no more important volunteers to our rescue group than those who open their homes to our animals. These wonderful souls give these formerly abused or abandoned cats and dogs love, gentle care, and a safe haven -- something most of them have never known. Fundraiser/event planner
This group works to staff, create, implement and manage BFPA's fundraising events during the year.
Email/voicemail crew
A job done from the comfort of your own home at your convenience. Work is done in shifts, very flexible. Return phone calls or answer emails from the public
Photographer
If you have a digital camera and love animals, we need your help. Posting good, clear photos on our website of available BFPA cats and dogs helps in their advertising.
Donate:
The Warm Hearts for Cold Noses program allows those who can't foster or adopt to sponsor a pet, providing medical care and food.
A Cafe Press shop offers T-shirts, babywear, mugs, hats, magnets & buttons, totes and more with the BFPA logo.
American Express card members may donate Membership Rewards points.
BFPA is partnered with Goodsearch search engine. Select BFPA as the charity of choice and it receives 50 percent of advertising revenue.
Food Lion MVP cards may be linked to BFPA to donate a portion of sales from each shopping trip. Card holders must re-link each fall.
BFPA partners with iGive, where top vendors — Restoration Hardware, Home Depot, Target and iTunes to name just a few — donate between 1 and 16 percent of each purchase to your designated charity.
Pet care supplies, medicines, crates and other necessary items are welcomed.
Cash donations may be made via PayPal. BFPA purchases discounted supplies from affiliated veterinarians.
