About:

Enriching the lives of people with special needs in Wake County and surrounding areas through therapeutic horseback riding.

Horse and Buddy maintains 35 acres of land in New Hill and a 10-stall barn. The organization serves 75 riders per week. Horseback therapy aims to increase strength, balance, coordination and confidence, in order to help riders overcome life challenges.

Volunteer Opportunities:

All volunteeers must attend a training session and be 14 years or older.

Annual events include the Sequins and Spurs Gala in May at Prestonwood Country Club and the online Buddy Derby campaign in the last months of the year.

Donate:

A wish list details all most-needed items. Horse supplies, barn items and grounds upkeep items are in highest need.

Funds to help maintain facilities, purchase food and supplies for horses may be contributed online.
